Night Diving

This year I went on two night dives led by Jorge Machado on the Madeira Divepoint House Reef. I came across a Rose Petal Bubble Snail which is  rarely seen in Madeira. The dive centre has sent the photographs of this snail to the Madeira Marine Research Centre. Also on the dives I photographed Atlantic Dancing Shrimps which are easy to spot in the dark because their eyes glow in the light from divers' torches. These shrimps tend to congregate upside down under rock overhangs. Another highlight was a Spiny Spider Crab perched on top of an and her and adorned with White Stinging Sea Fans and a variety of weeds.
